  • CapeCoast Tour:This is a full day tour departing from Accra to Cape Coast in the central region. We have three planned stops and one bonus stop. Assin Manso Slave River is a historical site located in the central region of Ghana. Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle both played a significant role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. These sites are significant places for understanding the history of the transatlantic slave trade.

Tour Plan

Morning: Assin Manso Slave River

  1. First stop is the Assin Manso Slave River, which is about a 2–3-hour drive from Accra.
  2. Exploring the Slave River site and learning about its historical significance in the transatlantic slave trade.
  3. You can also visit the Donkor Nsuo (Slave River) Shrine.

Afternoon: Cape Coast Castle

  1. Our next stop is Cape Coast, which is approximately a 1-hour drive from Assin Manso.
  2. Visit Cape Coast Castle, where you'll spend time exploring the dungeons, Door of No Return, and the museum. It's a poignant but essential experience.
Lunch

Late Afternoon: Elmina Castle

  1. Drive to Elmina, which is another 20-30 minutes from Cape Coast.
  2. Explore Elmina Castle, including the dungeons, female slave quarters, and the beautiful view from the top of the castle. Allocate 1.5 hours for this visit.
Bonus stop on the return to Accra.

Evening: return to Accra.
