This is a two full days tour departing from Accra to Cape Coast/Elmina in the central region. Assin Manso Slave River is a historical site located in the central region of Ghana. Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle both played a significant role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. These sites are significant places for understanding the history of the transatlantic slave trade. The Kakum National Park is home to a wide range of plant and animal species and various mammals, such as monkeys and antelopes. One of the main attractions of Kakum Park is the canopy walkway, which offers visitors a unique perspective and to experience the rainforest from an elevated viewpoint. Hans cottage is a privately owned cottage with friendly resident crocodiles, fish, and different species of birds.

Day 1: Cape Coast Tour

  1. The day starts by visiting Fort Amsterdam, a historic Dutch fort, to learn about the colonial history and take in the scenic coastal views.
  2. We continue to Assin Manso Slave River, a solemn site where enslaved Africans had their last bath before being taken to the castles. Pay your respects to their memory.
  3. Visit the Heritage Garden to see sculptures and artifacts that commemorate the history of the transatlantic slave trade.
  4. Explore Fort Williams, another historical fort with a connection to the slave trade.
  5. Spend the night in Cape Coast to prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Cape Coast and Elmina Tour

  1. Begin your day by touring Cape Coast Castle, one of the most significant slave castles in Ghana, where you can learn about the harrowing history of the transatlantic slave trade.
  2. Afterward, we will continue to Elmina Castle, which also played a pivotal role in the slave trade. Explore the castle and its surroundings.
  3. In the afternoon, we make our way to Kakum National Park and experience the canopy walkway, allowing you to view the rainforest from a unique perspective.
  4. We end our tour by visiting Hans Cottage Botel and enjoy a relaxing time looking at the majestic crocodiles and bird watching.
  5. We journey back to Accra
